What You Can Do |

We are asking our Homes for New Jersey partners to commit and show support in the following ways:
- Attend meetings of your staff, residents, board or other organizations to discuss the campaign and how to advance it. Talk it up!
- For general questions about the Homes for New Jersey campaign, contact Campaign Coordinator Kim Nagy, coordinator@homesfornj.org, 609-393-3752, ext. 25.
- Make affordable housing a priority for elected officials and prospective candidates.
- Get others involved.
- Identify potential allies & sign them up to join the campaign (See Join Us).
- Reach out to your residents, neighborhood leaders, people on waiting lists and others to be part of an action alert group for the campaign (to write letters, attend events, forums, etc.). Obtain contact information so that the Homes for New Jersey campaign can follow up with your recruits.
- Participate in and encourage others to participate in campaign events (watch for details in regular campaign e-bulletins).
- Spread the word.
- Make sure campaign materials are in your office to distribute (see Campaign Introduction).
- Write a letter to the editor or op-ed in your daily and weekly newspapers. Encourage others to do the same (see Media Outreach/Sample Letters and How to Get Your Letter to the Editor Printed).
- Include news about the Homes for New Jersey campaign in your organization's newsletters, group e-mails and at special events. Watch for our updates in regular campaign e-bulletins and incorporate them in your newsletters (see Media Outreach/Sample Newsletter).
- Register voters.
- Organize voter registration and get-out-the-vote efforts in your community (see Local Outreach/Voter Registration and How to Hold a Candidates' Forum).
- Contribute.
- Contribute financially to the campaign and encourage others to do the same.
